Processing cadence, data age and delivery are different measures. They do not imply a fixed time from hail onset to an alert.
Built for the technician on the road
HailSignal supports decisions about potential work areas. Depending on the available data, alerts provide:
- Location and estimated affected area
- Estimated hail size and class; no proof of actual damage or a worthwhile trip
- Available storm track with direction, speed and estimated arrival
- confidence level with reasoning: how well the situation is proven
Better one alert too few than one false alarm
Radar estimates can be wrong. Size and confidence are reported separately. New or corrected evidence can change the assessment; matching updates and all-clears follow the delivery rules. The coverage page describes the available scope in each area.
